Annual awards buffet on October 20th

This year’s prize presentation has been brought forward. It is at Kendal’s Factory Tap (off Aynam Road) on Sunday 20th October at 3pm. Tickets are £10 and there is a buffet after the prizes are given out. We are holding our annual freewheel competition as part of that day’s club run, leaving Kendal Leisure Centre at 9am and returning to town around 1pm after a brew stop. Join us for this if you can but, if you can’t, then meet us at the brow of the hill at the south end of Old Town, for an 11am roll-out towards Kirkby Lonsdale and a chance to win this year’s freewheel prize..

This year’s award-winners are Deceuninck Quick Step professional rider and KVRC Life Member James Knox, George Wharton, Duncan Orme, Chris Dixon, Phil Shaw, Ryan Van Delft, Ian Lilley, Andrew Barlow, Tim Bennett, Steve Scott, Claire Rushton, Lewis Bethom and Richard Belk.

Next year

We are planning a two-day road race in partnership with Beacon Wheelers, in addition to our annual Bob Swailes Memorial event, and have already begun the process of promoting a midweek open SpoCo time trial in memory of Peter Knott. Paul Latham is also on track to run another AUK audax in July and our committee is this week firming up our 2020 calendar to include a couple of club audax rides plus some all-day club runs as well as shorter weekly rides. If anyone has other social riding suggestions please fire them our way via me.
